Brocolli Green Peas Poha

When you jump off the bed, you realize you are three hours late to wake up on a busy day because your unconscious self decided to hit the snooze button numerous times. So I decided to make a breakfast which was easy to prepare as well as high in nutritious value.

Ingredients

Poha

Poha is flattened rice which is also called rice flakes or pounded rice. It is predominantly found in rice-cultivating countries. It is made by dehusking rice grains, parboiled,dried, and rolled into flakes.

Broccoli

It belongs to the cabbage family which is a good source of Vitamin C, Vitamin K, potassium, and magnesium. 100 grams of broccoli contains 34 calories and 2.8 g of protein. Since it belongs to a cruciferous vegetable it may prevent cell damage thereby reducing cancer risk

Green Peas

It is a pulse that comes in the form of a green pod and contains seeds that are either green in colour or white in colour. 100 gms of Green Peas include 81 calories and 5 g of protein.

Ingredients

  • 250 gms of Red Rice Poha
  • 2 medium-onions
  • 4-slitted green chilli
  • 100 gms of Boiled Broccoli
  • 50 gms of Boiled Green Peas
  • ½ tsp salt (as per your taste)
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons of oil
  • ¼ tsp mustard seeds
  • 2 pinch of turmeric powder.

Instructions

  • 1. Boil Green Peas and broccoli with a little bit of salt. Keep it aside
  • 2. Take Poha in a strainer and wash with running water. Keep it aside and make it not soaked too much otherwise it will become soggy.
  • 3. Take a tawa or frying pan, add oil of your choice. Once the oil becomes hot add mustard seeds. As they splatter saute onions till translucent.
  • 4. Add Green chili, Broccoli, and Green peas with turmeric powder and salt. Saute them thoroughly.
  • 5. Add the poha to the mixture and mix gently. This can be garnished with coriander leaves or any crushed nuts of your choice.
  • Serve them hot.
